From the creator;

Living in Mexico for most of my childhood was a life changing experience. Even though I was born and spent most of my adult life in the United States, so much of who I am is attributed to those years.

I learned so many things about my other nation and got to experience a whole new worldview. The thing that stuck with me most about the mexican people was their love for life. They celebrate daily; they celebrate their history, their culture, their food, their music, their entertainment, their sports, and their traditions. It was such beautiful thing to experience just how much the mexican people loved their country.

It is because of this that I decided to create a lively, unique deck of playing cards that would adequately celebrate and portray my deep love for my mexican heritage.

If you've ever seen a mexican blanket or poncho, then you know what inspired this back design.

The Ace of Spades is modeled after the coat of arms seen in the center of Mexico's flag.

Each of the 12 court cards have been completely redesigned to represent and honor a variety of figures.

Zapata, The King of Spades, honors a leading figure in the Mexican Revolution.

El Azteca, The King of Clubs, honors the Aztecs of Mexico.

El Borracho, The King of Hearts, is a tribute to Tequila; Mexico's most famous distilled beverage.

El Campesino, The King of Diamonds, honors a traditional class of mexican farmers.

La Santa Muerte, The Queen of Spades, is a female folk saint venerated primarily in Mexico. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees

La Virgen de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe), The Queen of Clubs, is the recognized symbol of Mexican Catholicism.

La Soldadera, The Queen of Hearts, honors the strong and confident women of Mexico who went into combat alongside men during the Mexican Revolution.

La India, The Queen of Diamonds, represents the indigenous women of Mexico.

El Torero, The Jack of Spades, honors the national sport of Mexico: Bullfighting. Mexico City is home to the biggest bullfighting ring in the world, La Monumental, built in 1942.

El Taquero, The Jack of Clubs. We all love someone who can make delicious tacos.

El Luchador, The Jack of Hearts, is a tribute to Blue Demon, a Mexican Masked professional wrestler who was widely considered to be one of the greatest Mexican wrestlers of his time.

El Mariachi, The Jack of Diamonds, honors Mexico's most famous musicians.
